Congratulations to Addy Deal, Witt Myers, and Eddie Duffy on being named Athlete of the Week over the last few weeks!
Addy Deal has stepped up and done a lot of the heavy lifting for the girls' basketball team this year. The week she was nominated, she scored 15 points against Gettysburg and had a team high 11 points against Lyman. She drew 11 fouls against Lyman as well. She worked hard to get to where she is at with weight training and skill work in the off-season. She is encouraging to the other girls at practice and games. She helps teammates get to and from practice and has taken the underclassmen under her wing. She recognizes some of her own challenges and actively tries to improve them for the betterment of the team.
Witt Myers wrestled his way to 3rd place at the Mid-Dakota Monster in Presho a few weeks ago. He was only beat by the #1 seed in 138 pound weight class that weekend. Witt works hard on and off the mat and always has a good attitude.
Eddie Duffy continues to shine in the biggest moments of the game. Eddie continues to see every team's best defender and doesn't shy away from that challenge. He averages over 20 points per game and averaged 22 points the week he was nominated. He hit a game winning shot with 4 seconds left and makes winning plays allowing the team to be successful. He is a leader with a calming presence and keeps the team under control in games. He doesn't let the moment get too big, and he continues to show a high level of character each game.
Way to go, Addy, Witt, and Eddie!

The BE Pro Be Proud Workforce Mobile Unit visited SC today, and our student volunteers were incredible! Student volunteers kept students in grades 6–12 moving as they explored hands on workforce experiences in welding, plumbing, power line work, digger simulator, and a truck driving simulator. The BE Pro Be Proud team was truly impressed with the leadership and enthusiasm our students showed throughout the day. What an awesome opportunity for real world learning!
Our MVPs are: Wyatt Schilling, Owen O'Daniel, Ajey Rutherford, Jaxon Severson, Noah Eaton, Ezra Rutherford, Mason Herrman, Asher Rasmussen, and Aspen Lenz.

Ms. Baumberger’s and Mrs. Schulz’s kindergarten classes are taking part in Hearts Across America—a project that connects classrooms nationwide while building geography, math, and literacy skills. This map, displayed in the elementary hallway, shows all the states that have sent letters so far. They’re off to an amazing start!

What better way to celebrate National Read-Aloud Day than having an author read their favorite childhood story to you? Mrs. Gloe's Second Grade class was fortunate enough to have Molly Weisgram (author of "The Other Side of Us") read "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" to her class. The students enjoyed listening to the story and asked Molly many interesting questions about being an author.

The Stanley County Schools theater is asking the public if they have extra wooden suit hangers, and “period” dresses or suits and shoes they would like to donate.
If so, they can drop them off at the school or call 605 223-7743 to have them picked up. Thank you!

The Badlands Brawlers (Philip/Wall/Kadoka) came to town on Thursday January 29th and upended the Buffaloes 47-23. A lot of exciting matches , but the Buffs never backed down. Wins for the Buffaloes came from Jerrick Walker, Witt Myers, Landon Bame, and Case Kolda.
After a day of rest and a short practice, The Buff boys jumped on a bus and headed out to stay the night in Hartford on the way to the Parker Invite. Once weight was made and breakfast ate, we traveled the short distance to Parker. With only 12 Buffaloes ready to stampede, every wrestler contributed to the team score by winning at least one match.
Mason Stoeser came one match from placing but had 3 pins along the way. Braylen Williams may not have scored team points as he wrestled unattached, but he finished 2nd at 106. Jerrick Walker finished 2nd at 120 winning 2 matches by pin. John Boes came one match from placing as well, dropping a 9-7 heartbreaker to place. Witt Myers finished 2nd at 132 with a pin and major decision. At 138, Ryland Magee dropped a quarterfinal match after having a huge lead to battle back with 3 pins and techfall on his way to third place. Landon Bame, 144 pounder, had 2 pins and a techfall to finish third as well. Our lone champion came at 157 with Case Kolda simply dominating his weight class with 3 first period pins! Coy Ludemann had a spectacular day with two pins and gutsy 3-2 decision to finish in third place. Sayth Cronin had one pin in his three wins to finish in third place at 190 pounds. Wyatt Schilling had one pin on the day but came up short from placing at 215. And at Heavyweight, 9th grader Aven Angyal got in the win column with an exciting pin but still ended up short of placing.
It was a great day and for the first time this season, the Buffaloes brought home some team hardware finishing in second place with 155.5 points. Falling only to Class A Tea Area, who scored 156 points. Go Buffs!

After reading different versions of The Little Red Hen, Ms. Baumberger taught both kindergarten classes how to make bread! After a few hours of cooking in a bread machine, the kids then got to enjoy the yummy treat, FRESH WARM BREAD!
