This week in Stanley County Sports: TUESDAY the Boys Basketball team will host Crow Creek in round 1 of Region 6A basketball. Game time 6:00 THURSDAY Stanley County will play host to Girls SoDak 16. Red Cloud and Florence/Henry will play the first game. Tip Off at 5:30 The second game is White River vs Herried/Selby following the first game. FRIDAY is the second round of boys region basketball. Information on the second round will be out by Wednesday.

Since 1977, the South Dakota Peace Officers Association Auxiliary has recognized a cheer team for their outstanding leadership during Girls’ and Boys’ State Basketball tournament play. The Stanley County Student Council helped assemble cards with a Spirit of Six pin to be given to the cheer teams during the tournament. Stanley County Student Council students Mattie Duffy, Tatum Scott, Taylee Stroup, Keira Briggs, and Cadence Hand assembling the Spirit of Six awards.
Conferences will be held Wednesday & Thursday, February 16 & 17 - 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Elementary conferences will be held in the teacher's classroom. Middle-High School will be held in the middle-high school gym. Thank you.
Hats off to juniors, Aleeyah Schilling, gymnast, and Chase Hanson, wrestler. Aleeyah had a high score on her floor routine with an 8.5 at regions and is heading to state in Mitchell. Chase earned the 120 lb. weight class champion on February 5, at the Big Dakota Conference Tournament in Fort Pierre. Thank you to the South Dakota Army National Guard for sponsoring the SC athletes of the week.
