Ag leadership and communications students recently took part in hands-on activities that highlighted both agricultural communication and food science. Students watched renowned agriculture advocate Temple Grandin after learning about The Power of an Ag Story and Building the Message. The activity helped students apply what they had learned while gaining a better understanding of the differing perspectives that exist within agriculture.
Middle School Ag students also put their food science knowledge to work by making homemade ice cream and decorating creative ice cream containers. Students showcased both their scientific understanding and artistic skills throughout the project.
The container decorating contest featured outstanding entries from each class. Class One winners were Mariah Boardman and El'cee Hemminger while Julius Boes (green container pictured) and Tracyn Paxton (rainbow container pictured) earned top honors in Class Two. Students were excited to enjoy their homemade ice cream in class following the activity, making for a fun and memorable learning experience.
