After reading Owls in the Family by Farley Mowat, our kindergarteners became very curious about owls and eager to learn more. We spent time exploring nonfiction books, watching informational videos, and discussing what makes owls unique. To bring our learning to life, students had the exciting opportunity to dissect real owl pellets alongside Mr. Cornelison and Mr. Fischer’s middle school classes. This hands-on experience allowed them to discover what owls eat and see science in action, making our owl study both memorable and meaningful.
