In Mrs. Doherty’s 6th grade computer class, students recently took part in a personal presentation project designed to help them grow both socially and academically. Each student created a short presentation about themselves, sharing their background, interests, and unique personality.
Students discovered shared hobbies, surprising talents, and new points of common ground, helping to strengthen the sense of community.
Beyond relationship‑building, the project also gave students valuable public speaking experience. Presenting in front of their peers allowed them to practice confidence, clarity, and communication—skills that will serve them well into the future.
Mrs. Doherty’s approach shows how technology lessons can also nurture personal growth, helping students feel seen, supported, and ready to take on new challenges.
