During Thanksgiving week, our JK and Kindergarten classes celebrated by making stone soup together. After reading and listening to several versions of the folktale, the children compared and contrasted the stories, noticing how each one highlighted the importance of sharing and cooperation. Inspired by what they learned, the students each contributed an ingredient to their own pot, and watched it simmer into a delicious soup. Finally, everyone enjoyed a warm cup, experiencing the joy of working together and the gratitude that comes from giving and receiving.
