4th and 5th grade students deepened their understanding of gardening and soil health during a visit with Wyatt Johnson from the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition.
4th Grade: Students explored the five key principles of soil health and conducted a hands-on comparison of water infiltration in tilled versus untilled soil.
5th Grade: Students learned about the importance of composting and engaged in an activity to determine which items are suitable for composting and which are not.
