The SD Office of Transportation, Office of Air, Rail and Transit hosted an Aviation Art Competition with “Air Sports and the Environment” as the theme. It was sponsored to motivate and encourage children of all ages to become more familiar with and participate in aeronautics, engineering, and science. SC students who placed with their artwork included 3rd-grade student Adin Maskovich-3rd place in the 6-9 age group and 1st-grade student Addison Rathbun-Benson Honorable Mention in the 6-9 age group. Students won a 175-piece art set and an aircraft toy for their efforts.
