A number of central South Dakota students qualified to participate in the state-level Geographic Bee. It takes place today in the Student Union of South Dakota State University, beginning at 1:15 p.m.
The participants will be competing for a spot in the national competition in Washington, D.C. in May. The Bee is organized by the National Geographic Society.
To qualify, students won competitions at their schools and then passed a written test from the National Geographic Society.The following area students qualified:
